Quilting
Classes…
Beginning
Patchwork: Step into the world of quilting with this
wonderful introductory class. Create a wall hanging while learning to piece by
machine. You will learn many tricks of the trade that will make even your first
project look good! This class is geared for the beginner who wants to try patchwork
piecing or for those who have tried it on their own and been dissatisfied with
the final result.
Complete this class by doing some basic machine
quilting.
Fabrics are pre-kitted for this class.
Christmas
Tree Skirt: Actually this project
can be a tree skirt or a table topper. It’s an octagon shape that consists of
pieced blocks and triangles. Lovely to look at and a lot of fun to sew for your
family or give as a gift!
Christmas
Wall Hanging: This wall hanging is called “Dear Santa” and
made from a beautiful group of fabrics by ‘Clothworks’. We have a free pattern and kit available to
make the project and the Santa prints are really fun.
Club
Sandwich Runner: This runner does resemble a club
sandwich, but it’s a fun project to make. As we always suggest, difficult
looking runners make really great gifts and gift giving time will be here
before we know what hit us.
Country
Gathering Quilt: This is a sampler quilt that is just
plain gorgeous. There are 12 different blocks surrounded by ‘courthouse step’
blocks for a very attractive diagonal setting.
Escargot
Runner: Yes, the blocks do look a little like snails!
However, it’s a very attractive modern looking project, that
would be suitable for two or three small print or tonal fabrics.
Jelly
Roll Quilt: What a fun quilt to make! Use pre-cut jelly
rolls (2 ½ inch wide strips) or cut your own. A great way to use a lot of
different prints in a project and still look organized! Any fabric theme would
work and you will surely feel very pleased with the end result.
Latte
Quilt: Basic quilt making skills and thoughtful fabric selection are all you need to make
this queen-size beauty that will feel as warm as it looks. A pieced dog-tooth
inner border frames the quilt and adds interest to its design.
Lilypads with Tulips Quilt: Flannel
is a lovely choice for this quilt. Our sample is flannel and we were so excited
about how it looked that we have made kits available in similar fabric. The
focus of the quilt is a block made from 6 different fat quarters, surrounded
with a nice soft background and attractive borders.
Machine Embroidery Applique Quilt: Create beautifully stitched blocks with an Embroidery Sewing Machine. The embroidery designs are actually appliqué design. Choose from a variety of quilt patterns that include the designs.
Machine
Quilting “101”: Learn techniques to
get those quilt tops off the shelves and into use in a fraction of the time of
hand quilting. You will experiment with straight and curved line stencils. Try
your hand at free motion quilting including the ever popular stippling method
using your own machine. You too can have the satisfaction of telling everyone,
“I did the whole quilt myself.” The
class fee includes a kit with fabric, batting, stencils, fabric marker and
safety pins.
One
Block Wonders Quilt: This wonderful project is a good one for
someone who wants to try something that is just a little different. You use one
fabric to work with one shape and make a one-of-a-kind quilt. You’ll know you
are a
true designer when you finish this project.
Piping
Hot Binding Wall Hanging: Our wall hanging features a wonderful
technique that uses a tool called a ‘binding hot piping tool’. It’s the kind of
project that will surprise you with it’s ease…..but
you will need the right tool!
Tango
Table Runner: A great runner for small and medium prints and
goes together very quickly. You can use two or three fabrics, though
directional prints are not recommended. The size is 22” X 50”.
Toast
Points Christmas Runner: Do you have a spectacular piece of
fabric, perhaps a Christmas print that you would like to feature in a table
runner? Well, this may be the pattern you are asking for as it’s fabulously fast
and very attractive.
Totally
Triangular Quilt: If you have been looking for
a project to use your favorite large scale print, this could be the answer. The
quilt is 57” x 73” and will show off your fabric to perfection. It would be perfect for many of the oriental
or outdoor prints.
Yellow
Waffle
Time Runner: Do you have a lovely piece of fabric that you
want to sew, but don’t really want to cut up very much? We have just the answer
to your problem. The center of the runner is a wide piece of focal fabric
surrounded with some simple piecing and the runner is complete.
Woodpile
Runner: This runner looks like a complex ‘log cabin’
pattern, but is actually a combination of ‘rail fence’ and ‘woodpile’ blocks.
It’s an old favorite, but will always take on a new look when you choose a
different group of fabrics.
